Dribble

I'm watching GO right now.

Leaving A Job: The Soundtracks of Life

I recently left a job I've been at for over 5 years. The feeling was gratifying to say the least. There were no feelings of sadness or regret, rather of great relief. I shook hands and said a few goodbyes, but there would be no tears shed. I've moved on to greener pastures and goals of greater things. The next phase is ready for ignition. Where this all goes, I can never be sure.

As you ponder over these random thoughts of mindless dribble ask yourself...if you can recall the gratifying feeling of bidding something farewell. And not in a sad way, but in the way of relief of which I speak. It's a feeling of near re-birth and feeling of near euphoria. Sure, I don't have an exact vision of the next step on the path, but these things all figure themselves out in time.

It was a gorgeous Friday afternoon in Southern California, as I walked out of that office building for the very last time. I tuned in my iPod to a random shuffle and by some strange coincidence "Home Again" by the Disco Biscuits hit the airwaves. "Never had a home like this and the prophet said be careful what you wish. Never had to think twice, always knew my home was in paradise."

I decided to take the long road home for good reason on this day. The next song that hit shuffle was "Free" by Phish and then "Once in a Lifetime" by the Talking Heads..further proving that music is the soundtrack of life. Was this irony or was this really the defining moments of my life? You couldn't have possibly found more ideal song selections for this particular moment in time.

And so, I say farewell and prepare for something else. I only wish I could capture those feelings, as I headed down the 101 freeway...forever. TGIF.

Regardless, stick with me...and we will dance again. Cheers to the re-birth...Overserved.com. The light is back on. And we will be serving fresh thought and opinion and a daily basis...soon enough.
